I know that the second part of The Second Reality Project was updated in 2014 to TSRPR2.2 by FPIProductions and that new hack blew me away and I was stunned by it when I played it. Raocow has also played the original on his channel as well. :) Might be something looking into, all music was made by FPI as well and has good difficulty progression.

Please, do the Aether: The Infinite Library Demo, it is a very well made metroidvania style hack with original gameplay and a ton of cool features, inclusing item shops that give you items that allow you to change the scenery of the levels to traverse them.

Eyeless is a pretty good hack, or so I’ve heard! It’s supposed to be a creepy rom hack, but the creepiness is more in the atmosphere. It’s actually more of a puzzle hack!
