The first month or so of school can be such a whirlwind that many of us get caught up in stress and excitement and it is easy to forget the simple things. I know that I can get carried away trying to bring ideas I’ve had over the summer into my classroom and I can overcomplicate things.
At times like this, I make myself go back to the basics, like my process for planning a lesson. It sounds overly simplified, but that’s the beauty of it - a lesson doesn’t need to be complicated to be effective and engaging!
Here is a video I made a while ago walking through my step-by-step lesson planning process - enjoy!
