It’s one of my favorite songs I’ve ever had a hand in writing, and one of my favorite recordings I've ever made. The message is simple but I think it holds true — real love isn't about holding back or hiding who you are. It’s showing all of yourself to someone who hopefully celebrates, or at least tolerates, all your weirdness and wonder. The record itself is about relationships. Relationships with our friends, our neighbors, our partners, our planet, and with ourselves. Some are simple and fun, some are more challenging and complicated, and some, like life, are heartbreaking…and it’s about being present for them all.
