For context, I'm investigating just how common it is for certain artists on YouTube to buy fake views. If you take a look around on any edm channel nowadays some of them have like 1.2 million views but only like 170 comments. That's an insanely low rate. For instance any real engagement on a song that I've seen will have 20,000 views to every 100 comments. (these are based on songs I've put out) Also their channels seem to also have next to no comment engagement. The excuse I've seen is that “everyone uses YouTube music now” and I don't know how much I buy that. Hence the poll.

i would have used it, as I liked YouTube premium when we didn't have internet in the house, but the song recommendations were to do with videos that I watch. the stuff I watch Vs the stuff I actually listen to are p different

I’m that one guy who uses Youtube Music, it’s a buggy, annoyingly glitchy mess, but i love it. It really does have unparalleled selection of tracks? even compared to Spotify. Idk, and the fact the playlists are on youtube cuts down on a bit of hassle. I like youtube music, even if they really need to work on the app a bit more

I freaking HATE youtube music. I miss google play music, and think it was a HUGE mistake for them to kill it off, and force a migration over to youtube.

I didn’t think anyone at all used YouTube music. It always feels like one of those useless and redundant google products pushed out in an attempt to gain even more control of media distribution. Same with Amazon prime music. Both of these companies want to be the end all be all of everything anyone consumes either physically or mentally and it’s kinda disgusting IMO.

I honestly love youtube music, especially the easy downloading of songs/albums, since I live in a rural area with shit internet. The radio feature is super awesome too, it gives me a unique mix based around a specific song and my own interests. I do wish they'd sprinkle in a few more new songs and bands when I'm listening outside of my liked songs. I've discovered a ton of new bands through the app, but it does have a problem with endlessly replaying my favourites and not often leaving that circle. But I know I'm in the minority with this, and youtube music isn't really all that popular. it just works for me.

I honestly think YouTube music hella slaps. Especially when it comes to the radio/shuffle function. Spotify always gives me the same station with the same songs, but YouTube music keeps me guessing. I've found a lot of fantastic but underrated bands this way.

I have both Spotify and YTM. Honestly YTM previous GPM music stations are the best especially when recommending new songs and artists. Everything else about YTM sucks, but I always trust it if I like a specific song I like , starting a station with it is guaranteed to be good, where as Spotify I never found their recommendations good.

unpopular opinion i love youtube music. there are more options and you get more bang for your buck since you get youtube premium with it aswell. only problem is personalised playlists arent that good but thats fine for me since i didn't use that feature on spotify anyway.

I listen to music on YouTube in the background while I use my computer. Ad block keeps the music from stopping for ads. When I’m on my phone I use my music apps.

YT Music's my main choice for music streaming. Soundclouds okay, Spotify is worse than the pandemic but YouTube Music is pretty decent.

I’ve been using the YouTube music app on my phone for 3 or 4 years now. I really like it because bands will release different versions of songs on YouTube but not Spotify or Apple Music, and it’s really easy to listen to game soundtracks and stuff like that.

Teens and people like myself usually don't comment on anything at all unless its sentimental or we relate to it on a personal level. I find it weird that people actually comment on EDM channels at all. Whats the point? Its not the artists personal page and who even has the time anymore. It plays in the background and we let it play along.

Definitely in the minority here but I always use youtube music. I have found it amazing for exploring new artists. Also for downloading full albums and having them ready to play offline (rural driving, spotty internet).

I use the regular YouTube app for damn near everything. Your “Dark Side Of Spotify” video got me off of that train real quick, but I never bothered with Youtube Music

How many of you use youtube music to listen to music over the regular app?
