Walleye, Crappie, Bluegill, Perch and Pike all basically taste very similar. You can't beat Walleye through the ICE tho!

Walleyes are the best I have had for fried fish but sunfish in cold water are also pretty good, I think the place where the fish is from is more important, fish that grow in cold water taste cleaner and better in my opinion

I catch more crappie so I'll say crappie but I've eaten crappie that didn't taste all that good and I've never eaten a walleye that tasted bad so take that into consideration too but I'll still say crappie

Both are great. Lemon pepper on both sides and some cayan pepper on one side. Perch and sunnies are solid too.

I grew up in the south. Crappie is best freshwater fish down south. However, it has a slightly sweet taste that you don’t find in white, flakey, delicious walleye. Walleye are northern folks favorite fish to eat (or yellow perch) most of he time.
