Artisan Makes

Thanks for the great feedback after the last video. I am still not sure what color I should repaint the lathe and tailstock. I have currently settled on a light machine grey for the time being, but do you think I should go back the old Sieg brand red or choose a new colour. Open to any suggestions and feedback. Cheers

Purple. Something different than the gray, red and green machines out there.

Smoke grey looks on machines

You could paint it black and it would blend in with other black parts of the lathe.

In my experience grey looks worse with grease and dirt, while red/green/blue looks ok, but paint it in gold chrome if it makes you happy!

I like yellow on machines and equipment.

I really like racing Green or burnt orange on machines of all types, burnt orange machinery gives the whole work shop a lift and hides rough casting marks and grime pretty good as well, but hey, your machine you must have a preference, and if after a while you find you have gone off the colour you painted it, spend a few weekends and evenings and pick another one. Or go traditional old time colours you can't go wrong with dark grey or green, what ever you choose to do lm sure it will appreciate the face lift and run much better for it... Won't it.

@MrArray1967

I think the Sieg Red is awkward. Old green or light green color might be best.
