Welcome to the Michigan Engineering YouTube community!
At Michigan Engineering, our programs and community are designed to promote personal well-being and academic achievement – enabling everyone to unlock their potential and contribute with confidence. Every member of our community gets to be heard, should be involved and must be empowered to achieve their full potential.
With our YouTube channel, we invite you to join our community to learn, be inspired, share your perspective and discuss everything engineering with curiosity, thoughtfulness and respect.
To ensure the health of Michigan Engineering’s YouTube community, a guideline is an essential tool for us to steward an open, safe place to share enthusiasm for engineering and the University of Michigan. We aim to spark dialogue around the discoveries, people and ideas shaping the future, and to do so in ways that reflect our core values of collaboration, integrity and impact.
We have a few rules to guide us:
Be kind and engage in good faith. Don’t insult others, including those featured in videos. Critical, thoughtful conversations and feedback are essential and we encourage open discussion about the topics we post. We reserve the right to remove any posts that violate this Code of Conduct. This includes, but is not limited to: -- Off-topic comments -- Illegal activities -- Racial slurs -- Threats of violence -- Advertising -- Self-promotion -- Offensive or inappropriate language -- Pornographic material -- Actual or attempted defamation
Absolutely no hate speech will be tolerated. Offenders may be blocked from commenting in the future.
Give people the benefit of the doubt within reason, be conscientious of others’ time, avoid speaking in absolutes or stating your opinion as fact. Use facts and show sources to illustrate an argument.
If you have a question, ask! While we might not always be able to answer your questions, we will try to reach out to someone who can. Your curiosity is encouraged.
We reserve the right to delete comments and ban users who we feel violate our community’s rules.
Let’s learn from one another, push boundaries with respect, and work together to dream up and build a better world.
