✨I wrote this song in a little cabin at Breitenbush Hot Springs last spring. I took myself there to soak my sadness away and to remind me how much I love myself. I wanted to be out of my pining mind. I had that line from 'Forrest Gump' - "Dear Lord, make me a bird, so I can fly far, far, far away from here" bouncing around in my thoughts for days. But instead, I wanted a giant bird to come and take me out of my head. So that's how the first line started, the image of flying away on a self loving bird... haha. This song is for my integrity, to not be sorry about choosing myself and my happiness. I recorded it as a quiet whisper and an offering. It made me feel better to write this song. It patched up some heart cracks. ~ Laurie Shook
