I grew up with Slipknot and your videos, Joey bringin the sound and you how it was played, that's how I completed the idea and begin to play drums. There were good times that I will remember forever. We all lost an inspiration, a hero, someone to look up. It's gonna be hard night, hope you're doing fine. Rest in peace to my inspiration, Joey Jordison.

Had to come to your page right away. You and him were my main inspiration for playing drums when I was younger. Don’t EVER change your name‼️ I know for damn sure he would agree that you deserved it

I anticipated that you would make a statement over this unfortunate situation. David, I have enjoyed watching your videos for years and it's been nice to see your musical transformation and growth. I feel the pain that you feel in the loss of Joey. He was, and always will be, a driving force to inspire us. And yes, keep the name.

Man, I needed to visit your channel after hearing this. Been following you for 12 years now. If I want to watch a Slipknot Drum Cover, you're the man. Joey was a huge influence for me as well, the first heavier songs I heard were Disasterpiece and Before I forget. That was like 14 years ago. I remember instantly falling in love with his style of playing. He was so accurate and clean with the doublekick, even when they played the songs live faster, lmao! And we don't need to talk about playing fast as fuck while being upsaide down! What an absolute legend and a fucking beast this guy was and frankly, always will be.

I'm still amazed that after all these years, after all the talks you and i used to have on MSN, and after everything that's happened and the growth each of us has had - Jordison has still been the everlasting factor which ties us together, and always will. You once convinced me to get the Jordison signature drum kit, and literally changed my entire life. Bands, songs, albums, jobs, a wife/children, everything has happened differently because of conversations we had which resulted from our mutual love for this wonderful human, and i don't think this particular event will change that trajectory. The influence he's always had is the influence he will always have. Regardless, I hope all is well with you, aside from the obvious, and i hope you remember that things will never actually change if we remember people the way we should.

Dude. Love your channel, I've been watching for what seems like forever ago. Joey was the reason I picked up sticks to begin with. I heard he died and it was the first death to ever hurt me so profoundly, so far. I CANT BELIEVE HE SAID THAT ABOUT YOUR VIDEOS!! That's freaking amazing. I'm looking to get some of his sticks he made. He lives on in all of us he inspired.

Used to watch your videos all the time back in the day! Would watch in awe dude. Randomly your video came up after a drum cover I watched and all the memories started flooding in lol. It was a nice refresher especially in the wake of this tragedy. What an amazing compliment from Joey and the band. Loved reading that!

Oh man, first Alexi Laiho at the end of 2020 and now Joey. Those guys are leaving us so early. Joey inspired me a lot when I discovered Slipknot, you can be sure you also inspired a lot of slipknot fans through your covers, at a young age you were basically the go-to channel for people who admired Joey's compositions. I don't see a problem if you keep the nickname. It would be a huge tribute if you did some sort of medley, it's up to you though.

Def a big loss to the music community, got into music bc of slipknot and system of a down, eventually found u bc of ur username and slipknot drum covers back in the earlier days of utube. Losing paul gray was a big hit to me as a kid and now as a 22 y.o it also sucks as much to have lost another of the OG's

This is a post I was not expecting to be writing so soon. Honestly, at all. When do you ever consider the mortality of people you have never met but who nevertheless succeeded to affect your life so profoundly?
I never had the chance to meet Joey Jordison, but I will always remember the few times I was lucky enough to see him live together with Slipknot. It was chaos, but a form of chaos that just radiated and managed to give you energy to keep going. To fight. We all fight our own battles. Joey fought his own, and he gave me the strength to fight mine.
Being a young, passionate and odd kid, drums and Slipknot were some of the only things that gave me comfort and confidence. They made me feel like I had a home, and that me and my struggles were valid. If someone can make me feel these things, then maybe I can do something like that too? No, Joey wasn’t the most technical or skilled drummer, but damn it if he wasn’t one of the most passionate and expressive. He never played for skill. He played for emotion. His contribution to music and drumming will live on, not just through me, but through our entire beautiful community who I know shares my sentiments. I am eternally and deeply grateful for having lived at the same time as him.
I remember speaking with Corey after a show with Stone Sour back in 2010, and he mentioned that the nine had seen some of my YouTube videos during their rehearsals. Joey had apparently become angry at how this little Swedish kid on YouTube was playing their songs “better than him” haha. The sweetest and most humble form of hyperbole I’ve ever heard.
Thanks Joe. For everything.🖤
Ok if I keep the name, just for a bit longer...?
