600cc is entry level inline four territory, 750-850cc for the advanced, 1000cc is expert level and anything higher than that is meant to move fat people

Of course a good rider can get great lap times out of a 600. But you do lose the thrill of acceleration compared to a modern liter bike. I speak from experience. Went from a 675r to an rsv4. The little Daytona lost its shine after getting used to the big Ape.
