2v2 is best because not only does it show your individual capabilities, it also shows how well you can be a team player. Both of which are important to ranking up in all gamemodes.

1v1 is the best gamemode. If you're complaining about teammates, then try 1v1. Winning a 1v1 game is the best feeling in rocket league

I'm a 2s main. I just find 3s hard to get into when solo queuing. Though extra modes is great for when I'm playing casually, because while yes, they do have a rank, I don't care about my rank in rumble and dropshot.
