Hanna, I was wondering if you could shed some light on this tecnique I found in this Spanish Video. They are using Esparto? grass but I think if I can figure it out, I could use this technique for many of the fibers I am growing here including willow. The video is good and caught my eye, but it looks like they repeat the same steps over and over (which is weaving) but the camera does not seem to follow the process through one set of steps into another and I am struggling to make heads or tails of it. I don't have much experience but I know you will probably think it is easy peasey! It looks to me like it is a simple randing of two lengths back and forth but what gets me lost is when he adds the ribs as a 3rd length and it gets twisted and steps over one location. So the ribs of the basket actually step in a zig to the right or to the left depending what direction you start the basket. Here is the video, but any light you can shed on the subject would be wonderful if you have the time. If you don't have the time, No worries, I will just watch this damn video another thousand and one times, LOL! https://youtu.be/VlFQXBFm60I?t=842 Oh, the center or start of his basket looks almost like one of those viking needle weave, can't remember the name of it, but that beginning is interesting. It looks like he rands with two lengths and adds a third length with each twist them probably rolls them together as he weaves but they don't show that part. Or my mind is melting and I can't see what is directly in front of my nose here. Strange how that is at times.
