She’s not just a dog. ❤️ she is a cherished member of your family. I lost my precious cat of 16 years this past December. The last couple years of her life she dealt with thyroid issues, had a couple pancreatitis attacks, and ended up having mast cell tumor in her spleen. It was heartbreaking and still is. I miss her presence every day. She truly was one of the most precious gifts I have received from God. He knew I needed her for all those years. Do not ever diminish your love for your faithful friend no matter what anyone says to you or how they may try to make you feel. Our pets are gifts and blessings and give us unconditional love. Much love to you! 😘🙏🏻

What you wrote was perfect. I feel your heart. I work at a vet and see loss often. I tend to compartmentilize to handle it professionally for the client, although comfort is a given. At times my emotions get the best of me and I struggle as if it were my own. As a Christian I know our Lord made these loving beings just for us and we should never take them for granted. They make us better people. It's about loving selflessly. I want to thank you Father for blessing us with our precious pets that allow us to see and feel your true heart❤

💕 oh Lou! It is rough. Recently did it twice. It never gets easier. She is not just a dog. I have seen your rescue video and you have a heart of gold! You know that you have given her all of your heart. Now it is time to hold her forever in yours.

So sorry you’re going through this!! Dogs are the best and I’m right there with you. Some people don’t get how they’re more than just a dog but there are plenty of us that know and understand your pain. ❤️❤️❤️

Wishing you all strength and compassion. It's obvious how much you love her. If you do decide that it's better to stop her pain sooner, people who chose to have the vet come to their home felt a bit better about everything--that it was the best choice for everyone. If that's an option for you, it's something to consider. Just sending lots of warmth your way during this difficult time.

Losing a pet is one of the hardest things to endure. When I lost my dog last April I was devastated and still am today. Even if they couldn’t be around for our whole life, it’s nice to know you could be there for all of hers 💕

Nobody loves you like your dog. They give us an amazing gift and you have given one right back to her. You’ve given her the best life. All dogs want is to love and be loved. Your Abby girl has both! It’s so hard when they have to leave us. It seems unbearable. Just keep loving her as hard as you can while she’s here and she will be the happiest little beagle! Wishing you and your family the strength and love to handle this very emotional and heartbreaking time.

My fav: Dogs come into our lives to teach us about love, they depart to teach us about loss. A new dog never replaces an old dog, it merely expands the heart ❤️

I know how heart breaking it is. We had to put our pup down this year after 12 wonderful years of love. They are a huge part of our family. Hugs and love to you and your fam jam. 💚💚

My heart is breaking for you. Animals are the purest form of love. I’m sure that Abbey feels your love for her too. You both will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Hugs to you and Abbey, Lou. She is lucky to have you as her guardian and you are blessed to have had her with you. It's the deal we make with our fur babies. They give us unconditional love and comfort in exchange for unconditional compassion and grace when they need us most near the end. Stay strong for Abbey. Xoxo

I lost my sweet Pomeranian, CoCo, in July and I’m still not over it. No one loves you like a dog and when they’re gone we feel broken and misplaced. I Wish you peace and love through your grief ❤️❤️❤️

Dear Lou. I adopted a dog when my ex decided to move out with some chick he worked with. My daughter was 4 yrs old and crushed when he left. I myself was a mess. Winn-Dixie was a mixed breed but he brought calm to our house. He was sweet and funny. He has been there waiting when all my kids came home from school. He always seem to know how tired I was working 2 and sometimes 3 jobs to support us. My daughter is getting ready to graduate college now. Winn Dixie is old almost completely blind and can never hear me call his name anymore. Since he came into my life. I’ve raised all my kids watched them go off to college one by one and have their own lives but Winn Dixie is still here with me. I think about all the years he has been around. Just a dog no one wanted with a mom and a bunch of kids. Pets are amazing. I truly believe God in all his mercy and grace gives us pets to help us through life. I also believe like people we will see them again when we are done here.

Hi Guys. Turns out that Abbey always had an appetite, it just hurts her so much to swallow that she associates food with pain now. When the pain meds hit her just right, she’ll tolerate the pain momentarily for something really yummy. Even if the tumor could be removed and she wasn’t in pain, she would only have 1-3 months of life left. I am torn apart. My heart is broken. I don’t want her to leave me. It’s so hard to see her in pain. There is nothing I can do at this point to make her better. I would give her 7 years from my life just to have her for another year. I honestly don’t know how to get through the next 24 hours. I didn’t want to post a pic of her sick so I chose this one of when we had matching hair. I’ve lost people and pets before. I guess I forgot how devastating it is. Thank you guys so much for being here with me and for all of your support and love while we go through this. Some would say it’s just a dog. Maybe so, but this dog has my heart in her little speckled paws.
Love you all💕oxoxo Lou
