Ok, I just watched your video about biting. It makes a lot of sense an sounds close to what I did with my cockatiel when I got him. He was a young bird named Spaz. The name fit. When I got him home we renamed him Birdybird (my kids choice). At first I was the only one allowed to handle him. I found he was a biter. Every day I would sit next to his cage not trying to touch him. Just talked to him. Once he accepted that, I opened the door (long sleeves and a glove at first) and just rested my arm inside. Again. No attempt to touch him. During this time the dog decided to taste him and broke a blood feather. This meant catching him with a cloth, locating the bleeding feather stub and removing it. Once it was removed he settled down so I just kept him wrapped in the cloth and talked to him. As he settled down I stroked his head through the cloth. I removed one glove and was able to touch his head and scratch it. He started to learn 'want a scratch?'. I went back to just putting my arm in the cage and was soon able to not wear gloves. Eventually, he learned to step up onto a dowel. Once out of the cage he would perch on me. He enjoyed sitting.on the table dealing my cereal. And he especially enjoyed snitching string cheese. Yes, at times we looked like the spaghetti scene from lady and the tramp. Then things went south. My parents got sick and I was unable to spend as much time with him. For 2 years this went on. When I was finally able to stay home I found he had reverted back. But now he is a worse biter. He refuses all treats. Once I get him to settle down I will try the cheese again. He used to like it. And yes I limited his intake. But, do you have any other suggestions? I need to keep his wings clipped because our dog will not bother him if I am holding him but if he flies it is another story. I am working on the dog. But meanwhile wing clipping is traumatic. To a point where I get my daughterinlaw to do it so he does not connect me with it. Can a bird ever be taught to be still for this? He has never been injured during clipping.

Hello. My name is Lizl from South Africa. I got a baby grey that was given up. His name is Louis and is about 13 weeks old. He is quite attached to me already. I do not know anything about Greys and find myself Googleing everything🙈Do you have any tips on to try and get him off the porrage and onto solid foods? Do you have a Facebook page I can connect to? I feed him fresh veggies and fruits daily. And he has pellets and seeds in his cage. He has really become quite grown in only this week. When I got him he couldn't climb or perch. He is doing that now ❤ I appreciate your videos as I feel lost and want him to have the best life. Thank you so much. Liz

Hello! Thank you for posting all the training videos that you have with Smokey. I have a question for you. Will these training methods only work with African Greys? How old should your bird be before you start training them? I have a 5 month old Sun Conure. I managed to use clicker training to train him to step up. That is as far as I got. I tried other tricks/tasks, but my Conure can't manage to sit still or pay attention long enough to learn what I am asking of him. Are all birds trainable? I would love to hear your thoughts on this subject! Thank you in advance for any suggestions you can offer me! I love your channel and have a couple of friends that already subscribed because your videos are amazingly informative!!! - Sincerely, Kelly

Hi! You’re so helpful, thank you!! I poked around to see if you listed where to purchase such an aviary. Can you share that with me? And what it costs if that’s okay. Thank you so much!

Hi first of all I'd like to say a massive thank you to you for your videos with Smokey. Your advice seems to be working well with my Parrot. I adopted a 6 year old african grey about 6 months ago. The previous owners only fed him seeds n pasta and now im really stuggling to get him to eat pellets and a balanced healthy diet. Could you give me some advice to get him to eat healthy? Thanks from Yorkshire UK
