If you don't have any luck I would search on Ancestry with the name. Or if you ever find yourself in this situation again. As well as reaching out to any VA hospital that you can. They wouldn't be able to provide you any personal information directly. However they might be able to reach out to the family on your behalf and have them contact you directly. Very cool...iβm surprised how rare Purple Hearts are nowadays, seems like when I was a kid they were everywhere at gun shows for fairly cheap too. Just searched ww2 Purple Heart on eBay & canβt find a single one!
