Now You See It

Here are my written thoughts on the crucial sacrifice that the Netflix mini-series Queen's Gambit made:

No joke you could make a tier where you just release audio of you reading these

I read this as “Now all ideas can work as Video Essays” and, of course I was thrilled, but really confused

Great article. Strangely, I read it with Now you see me (Jack's) voice

Still watching it. Can we take a moment to appreciate the wardrobe. I wanna a bullet bra, chic head scarf, her haircut, red wool half jacket with giant buttons, some Samsonite luggage, and a high waist flare skirt. Every scene has some amazing outfit, hairdo, or accessories.

Thanks for sharing. I liked the show, despite it being a sort of idealised version of real life. Jolene not having a child actor in the orphanage was super weird to me though, she was just a 30 year old with pigtails.

A very good analysis! Also I was really annoyed the other day when radio commenters were talking about the show talking non stop about its feminism and civil rights agenda. Like sure, of course, but it's portrayal of gender inequality is very unrealistic and I think the show covers much more than that. It's also about abandonment issues, addiction and the importance of a community that can have your back. Beth wasn't the typical asshole prodigy, she would have never gotten that far in the end without her loved ones, so her success is her own but also her teachers, her mother and her friends

Does anyone else think the protagonist kinda looked like Belle Delphine?
