The Devil In I and Snuff definitely must be among those 5! I recommend checking out the live acoustic version of Snuff.

I would go with Psychosocial, Wait and Bleed, The Devil In I, Before I Forget, and lastly Snuff. (The live version of Snuff is heartbreaking).

Left Behind was the first song that got me into them so wouldn’t be a bad one to visit. Not their biggest hit of the old catalogue, but if it was one of the first songs to start edging me into a life of heavy music, it can’t be that bad.

I see a few people are suggesting the live version of Snuff, and it IS gorgeous and heartbreaking... but I'd honestly recommend the official video. It tells an incredible story, and the layering and production on the full song is one of the reasons I adore it so much.

“Unsainted” is a beautiful one that I see hasn’t been mentioned too much in the comment section.. definitely worth a listen as well! Either way, they’re all beautiful!

To Howie, lol: I know they've only been around 10yrs, but when it comes to very very young women in rock, The Pretty Reckless would be amazing for this series. You get to see her literally grow up from a 16yo trying a smidge too hard to kill her Cindy Lou Who and Gossip Girl image and be seen as a rock musician..... who then hits her stride w/ the band and in the rock scene, comfortable w/ her sick talented friends (Chris Cornell, Amy Lee, Kato).... and has arrived as a classy hardcore rocker, who went through wayyyy too much death and had to do the maturing thing ASAP. But the band still survived. It's been a fascinating journey to see in her personhood but also in the band's music. The music was iconic - with some of the dopest instrumental sections for a young band - at every stage, and the changes in sound were subtle....but are what make them really perfect for a series like this bc you'll hear and respect them. ..while also getting to comment on her lyrics and the brutal journey of being a teen-to-woman in rock.

Purity, My Plague, The Nameless, Gehenna, AOV Then you have one song from each album other than the most recent release which can be for another time coz it deserves a trilogy in itself
