It’s a GREAT idea to mind YOUR OWN business! YOU are your VERY OWN Cake Artist. YOU are talented in your own way. YOU have your own style. Your very own niche. Your very own customers that are specifically meant for YOU. YOU are unique and there’s nobody else out there like YOU. Don’t EVER ask another Cake Artist what they charge for their work. WHY? Because it DOESN’T MATTER. Your cakes are NOT like their cakes and vice versa. Your prices should NEVER depend on what somebody else charges for their work. Everyone takes different amounts of time, has different techniques, different ways of doing things, etc. Don’t ever feel as if you have to COMPETE with somebody else. Don’t put yourself in BONDAGE that way! That will STEAL your peace! Don’t be so insecure that you HAVE TO know what other people are charging. Really? To the extent that you have to call and PRETEND to be a customer just to get a quote? Don’t do that to yourself. YOU GOT THIS! You’re good girl! Just TRUST GOD to give you the WISDOM to know HOW to charge correctly for YOUR work. You already KNOW when you’re not charging what you should. Don’t seek out other Cake Artists, their way of doing things, and their pricing. Ask for help when you need it? YES. But, don’t charge for your work based off of what someone else is charging. Psalm 34:10 says “They that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing”. Ask God for the help YOU need and He will GIVE YOU the confidence, security, knowledge, and customers YOU need.
