Add to that if you can ONLY manage it as long as you have an internet connection?? I can’t see how any qualified network engineer would ever recommend Meraki firewalls or switches. Requiring, with zero other options, a public layer 3 network to be operational in order to manage a private layer 2 network just seems crazy to me. (And don’t forget that not paying for your Meraki cloud license renders the switch, firewall, and APs into a non-operational brick). I preach this to my company and all my customers. However, people still pay 2x the amount to put themselves in this hell.

ASDM on ASA's, the old Checkpoint software that had a different app for every thing you wanted to do, gross, I agree totally.

Just thought I would remind you guys that if a firewall requires you to install an application in order to be able to configure it and manage it (IE, you can't use putty or a browser).....then it is trash. I don't care how well it performs.
