Details about certification would be good. We would generally certify the installation (fixed wiring) but certification of the actual alarm system would be interesting to cover and the requirements and regulations of doing so.

For any manufacturer when searching for specific products there is generally a wide range. It can be confusing to decide what is compatible with what - this is not a question for you to answer but perhaps you could give a view and opinion of what to aim for. If I go into a domestic situation and suggest they upgrade everything - the price alone will put them off. I need a strategy - upgrading one to wireless would enable another upgrade (later) to enhance the protection. Domestic is driven by price/quality/benefit. Your advice would help guide us to give good advice and benefit at a good price (that can be added to). In the end it’s about doing the right thing for the right protection.

Finally (maybe). Whilst testing can be down to a manufacturers instructions (press the test button). Can you advise on qualification and certification when testing. Should we be buying the smoke hoods to comply, recent Aico webinar said not to. We can be worried that we’ve not tested or verified correctly. A comment about what to check and confirm on initialisation would benefit all. It’s easy to install, test (electrical) and walk away but is that really enough. Does it really comply even with our hand on our heart? I want to know it’s good (in law) and the family is safe. Your advice is welcome because we won’t ever know until there is a fire.

Hey Dan, just wondering what the gateway module you used to link Aico devices to an addressable panel. Does the I/O have to be mains switching for it?

Hi Dan currently testing a HMO and have noticed that there isn't any form of fire or heat detection within the main areas or within the flats. What's your thoughts on this situation? Regards Chris
