IndieAndy

Hi guys!

So on Saturday, my band finally got to play live again after 18 months!

There's honestly no feeling like to playing songs you've written together and performing them on a stage with people watching!

Just to ask, would me talking about being in a band be something you would want to see in a video? It's something I want to do but I guess it would help to know if there's an audience for it 😂

Yes. I would love to hear about that. I’ve performed live in teams in a church setting. I also write my own spiritual songs and am learning to play piano. Go for it!

I think that you talking about being in a band would be really interesting because a lot of people would assume that an autistic person would not be in a band that performed on stage (cos loud music, bright lights, lots of people and so on). It’s really important to show autistic people who aren’t just a stereotype. There are many autistic people who love and are very talented in performing arts, but they get so little representation. I say ‘bring it on Indie Andy, tell us about your experiences as an autistic musician and represent for the arty auties’ ✌️💕

Yes, do talk about it. I am also trying to get into the band aspect of being a musician. I would love to hear how you navigate the sozial aspects of being in a band. Are there specific thing you have to pay attention to when it comes to gigs? Like maybe certain coping mechanisms, or accessebility acomodations (does that make sence? I am tired and my dyslexia is acting up.). There are so many question.
