That sucks. I lost years worth of old files when my new PC HDD crashed, it was the only copy on that drive while I was consolidating files from multiple externals. Turns out there was a critical HDD BIOS update required. I sent the drive back to the place where i purchased the PC for recovery, I won't say the name but it rhythms with "Hell", they said it was the drive manufacturers (rhymes with PeeGate) fault, sent it to them, they said it was Hell's problem, but I could pay $1,500 and they could see what they could recover.

There should be professional data recovery services from dead hard disks. If your hard disk haven't been in an explosion, there's hope. I suggest you to try googling for such service providers in your area. Best of luck! :)

Don't use HDD. I've lost mine a few months ago too. Models, textures, pr0n, everything. But it was a beginning of something new. Something never happening to me before.... It was the beginning of using cloud storages and SSDs. This should be your religion :P

Ok so as a guy who doesn't belive in religion or curses or any of that mumbo jumbo stuff, i'm really starting to think i may be wrong as it is otherwise impossible. I've had my disk die on me when i was recording the Vray course so i had to re record it, i had a mishap where i deleted my files when recording the Rigging course so i had to redo it, and now BOOM again my other disk dies that i had my re recorded videos put on.
Anyways i may as well start with religion and praying that someone might be able to retrieve my files as that disk happens to hold most of my textures, models and scenes i've worked on through the years.
So this post is basically me venting my frustration .....
