POLL: John Lennon magically shows up at your door and impatiently asks you "WHAT CONTEMPORARY POP ARTIST SHOULD I LISTEN TO RIGHT NOW?!" If he hates it he disappears. What POP artist do you think would keep him in existence?

Remember in his 1970s interview with Jan Wenner he said “I love rock ‘n’ roll man, I don’t like much else.” Toward the end of his life he expressed interest in Blondie, and the B-52s, so I think John Lennon was always open to new music.

@caryheuchert

I think he would be proud of his son, Sean. The music he’s recorded in the past few years is quite amazing, especially with his band, GOASTT.

If I wanted John to stick around, I sure as hell wouldn't play any of that shit!

I often wondered what John would've thought of Metallica.

@kennethoats2322

Definetly the White Stripes, and also he was a Queen fan too

@jessederks3889

I’d give him some early Arctic Monkeys material

@andrewpappas9311

Definitely Tame Impala, they're probably one of the best modern examples of a psychedelic rock band and I wouldn't be surprised if Lennon thought he was back in the mid/late-'60s

@anoaktree

Not contemporary. But nirvana, just to make Kurt Cobain happy wherever he is.

@wizradical4905

I'd tell him the music industry went down the shitter and that he needs to bring it back to life himself

@ricardopitamusic

Thom Yorke, Jack White, Beck, Damon Albarn.

@DanielG77

I'd tell him Paul McCartney

@BraeburnTV

Remember, he’s a 50’s rocker at heart. That’s what they grew up on. I don’t think he’d be into anything too experimental. Idk, I’d probably play him some Soundgarden, Beck, maybe Lenny Kravitz

Not exactly contemporary but I'd tell him to listen to Nirvana and also all the Queen songs that came after 1980(😢

Definitely Tame Impala. They have a more modern day Beatles sound

@ENigma-um8zw

Artists provided are already not as “contemporary” as we all think either.
