One of my nearest and dearest friends has a pet cat named Rosie who has been struggling constantly with really unstable health conditions since early last year, going back and forth between vets and put on medications to try and help her improve. It did work for a little while, but then she started getting worse again and they couldn't figure out exactly what was wrong. Her red blood cell levels were really low, so they took her to another vet just yesterday and were told she was in critical condition and Rosie was immediately referred to a specialist for a blood transfusion or she could die within days. The price in money was very heavy and they had to ask and borrow money from family just to be able to cover the transfusion cost- and today they got an official diagnosis for Rosie: IMHA (Immune mediated hemolytic anemia) along with a treatment plan set up. We are hopeful for many more years to come for this little cat who has provided so much comfort and support to her human simply by existing, Wetstar talks about her practically every day and loves her more than anything in the world. She and her mom have set up a GoFundMe to try and raise funds to help cover the expenses of the medications Rosie will be on, and they along with myself would be eternally grateful to anyone who pitches in even just a little bit. Even just sharing this around to those you know who may be able to help or spread the word more would be amazing 💚
