You know who is a good example of what not to do in terms of blackfishing? Pink. I remeber an interview where she spoke about how this was L.A Reids plan for her : Ambiguous girl from Philly with street cred. He wanted to use her to have a white artist enter the R&B genre and she refused. She didn't want to offend artists she loved. I have always respected her for that. Notice the only song amd video where Pink appears racially ambiguous is her first single called There You Go. Most of us thought she was mixed. Upon realizing this she immediately changed her image to fit her actual personality. This performative hood shit is not the move. I really liked Jesy but its like, you didn't grow up in the hood. You're basicly taking what you've seen in rap videos and copying that. The market you want to be in isn't the one that responds positively to this. The problem is always going to be a white person who doesn't understand our actual culture trying to imitate what they believe it is and then sell it back to us. Jesy, albeit an adult is not the problem. The industry is. She's not the first and certainly won't be the last.

It bothers me a lot man, Nicki is such an amazing artist, she is really kind to her fans and the funniest celebrity. Wish I could defend her but she keeps digging her own grave surrounded by horrible people (starting from her rapist husband, her paedophile brother and this blackfishing flop).
