It's my massive pleasure to be joined this Friday on our weekly livestream by a modern new school looping master.
Friidon has won the German loopstation championships not once but twice, wowing the judges and crowd alike with his mashup of styles that run the spectrum between hip hop, dancehall, dnb, electronic and experimental sounds.
When I met him in Berlin, a couple of years back Friidon told me that it was videos by myself and Dub FX that started his interest in beatbox looping. Well, talk about the circle (spiral perhaps?) of inspiration! Now it's people like him that are reinspiring us veterans! After jamming with him in Mauer park in Berlin last summer, I was so impressed by this dude's wizardry that I asked him to show me some of the tricks and approaches he uses in creating his awesome RC-505 performances. Well lucky me, and lucky you that he generously accepted and is giving us a full livestream focusing on beatbox looping with the RC-505 as well as a performance and a Q/A session.
