Based on some of your feedback and through some thinking, I think we're going to have it come in while they're eating dessert (past the halfway point of the video) and before one of the best parts of the video (asking them what they're thankful for). With the ad, I'll still have video of them eating pumpkin pie. Thank you guys for your feedback!

I actually like the idea of having the video continue THROUGH the sponsorship message - more sports are moving to the side-by-side system and I think it's a fine compromise.

I would prefer it right at the start of the video, or the very end. That way there's no interruptions during the content itself.

I think that as long as nothing crucial is happening in the video during that time that it would be okay, but never cover dialog or critical content with an ad voiceover.

If you could do it at the very end that’d probably be the best

Another update:
The subtitles are just about finished and the video itself is nearly complete (Patreon supporters will get an early preview this week). One thing that I'm really concerned about though:
-I reached out to Express VPN, a service we already use, and asked if they might be interested in sponsoring this video. They said yes and their sponsorship would cover most of the costs for filming this video (we had originally covered the costs with our last 3 months of money we made from youtube)
-The sponsorship portion would be about 4 minutes into the video where they're passing around the thanksgiving sides. While they're passing around the food, that part of the movie would move to the upper left hand side of the screen while we talk about our sponsor (see attached image).
-My main concern: a one minute sponsorship portion could put people off or throw off the rhythm of the video or take people out of the experience. At 4 minutes, I'm worried it might be too early in the video. Would you mind it if it came later in the video?
It's a big concern and a tough call to make right now. it also sucks having to spend 3 months of youtube money just to make a video.
We'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks
