soo....
currently I'm in a... dilemma about this channel.
I've been off from this channel for too long bcs my laptop is broken and I don't have phone back then, so I stopped making contents.
Now I'm back and..... I don't know
I made some 'Stage Mix' videos, but just few people watched it, the views got stuck, no feedback (this is the saddest thing bcs I love seeing the comments, whatever it is)
Some of my subscribers know this channel as a 'Color Coded Kpop Lyrics Translation' channel but this is the main issue.
A few months (or years?) ago there is a 'scandal' (idk how to call it) within the 'kpop lyrics video' channels. Some big (very very big) accounts are accused using their contents to gain profits. They monetize their lyrics videos.
Well, maybe for other contents like vlog, mukbang, or other youtubers it's not a big deal bcs they might doing those stuff for money. But for any contents that include music such as cover video (dance or sing), and lyrics videos, actually we can't monetize our videos because of 'copyrights'.
Simply said, if you make lyrics video for BTS - Butter, Hybe labels will take the copyright of your video bcs you use their music, so you can't get any money for that. That's why as a lyrics videos content creator, we can't get any profit.
But.....
These 'genius' creators behind those big accounts are having their own way to make their videos unnoticeable by the owner of the songs they use. How? They make their own song!
They made their own copyrighted song, and put it at the last part of their videos (after the song ended), so the video would be copyrighted by them and the money will pouring down to their bank acc. YAY!!
You make kpop lyrics videos, the fans (the huge fandom, a LOT of fans) watch it, you got the VIEWS, and you got the money that legally not yours.
Isn't that a... crime? oops
Some of them not even put a lil' effort to make the lyrics well-translated (g-trans and done) or well-distributed (whose part is it? nah)

and that for the creator's side
Now for the viewers side....
I know y'all watch translated lyrics videos to understand your idols' songs, but please don't make this videos to replace the artists' official videos. I mean... stream their MV instead of the lyrics videos!
That's all.

So.... back to my dilemma.
I started making these lyrics videos to help the fans knowing and understanding the their fave artists' songs more, to help them trying to pronounce the Korean lyrics better, and to let confused fans know whose voice is it singing the parts, even though I'm still lacking and made lot of mistakes in my videos.
I didn't make my videos to look aesthetic bcs I just want the viewers to look and focused on the lyrics.
I also always put down the credit link to the official videos and any source of translations on the description box under my videos bcs it's not my only effort, I got help by other accs for the translations, and ofc the artists need to be credited.
I made these videos to help fellow fans, not to gain money (bcs I know I can't get any cent of it)
But bcs of that scandal, I'm kinda worried to make a lyrics videos again.
what do you think about it?
Should I make lyrics videos again or not?

@lcmrz

honestly ur lyric videos helped me so much when i was a baby stay, no one else made 3racha videos as well as you and the lyrics you wrote actually made sense and you also put in the meaning as well. keep making lyric videos sayang, people stopped worrying when they saw that idols use lyric videos too anyways

Anyone who votes anything other than yes has to fight me 1v1 You were legit my favorite color-coded channel and I still manually search for your channel everytime I want to watch any old colorcoded video of stray kids. I know you aren't getting much appreciation you deserve so much more for your hard work, if you don't care about making profit I hope you keep on making colorcoded videos cuz they are of great quality and even if others don't appreciate it I'll certainly do.

If you don’t care about the profit then go for it. Do what makes you happy. And I’m sure there will be people who will appreciate your hard work like me

Clearly not enough ppl do it, but ever since that got exposed, I always check the credits to see if the channel is making money off of these videos or not. I actually wouldn't mind it if honest creators like you, who put effort giving credit where it's due, made some money off these videos. But the way it's been exploited by those big channels really rubs the wrong way. It's clear all they care about is money. It's bare minimum effort, they're fast bc that will maximize their gains, quality is irrelevant bc it's not like the fans can tell... Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for all you've done so far. It's your choice to see if it's worth it to continue, but if you do, know that there's people that know the difference and appreciate your work 🤗 I wouldn't worry about what people might think too much. Unfortunately those other channels continue to get millions of views and even "fans"
