So much amazing feedback in here, thank you all! The general consensus seems to be in favor of the new palette, with the caveat that I need to do a bit better with managing contrast of important entities (players and interactable objects) vs background stuff like the floors and walls. I think I'll move forward with the new palette, at least for now, and be more careful about how I manage the "conversion" to account for the higher contrast.

Like here for the right side (proposed new version, Endesga64)!

It's kind of crazy to me how "washed out" the current version looks in comparison to the new one. I never would have noticed without a side-by-side!

I do miss the rose-tinted wood. You could easily add it to the palette, as of now every wooden thing uses the same two colors, and stuff like the potted plant get lost in the mess.

New one. It is slightly lighter and that slight difference changes the vibe of the room

New one stands out much better while the old one gives a little nostalgia but the new one's great..

The new one definitely "pops" more compared to the old one, but I'm not convinced that more contrast everywhere is always a good thing. I think you have more options with the new palette but as for the art itself I feel like places such as the floor should remain a bit "washed about". This is because it's easier to tell the "foreground" from the background, especially during gameplay where you need to see things like the player more clearly. You get more depth by having certain details such as the topmost "cutout" of the walls being outlined heavily while keeping the inner details with less contrast. But I do think you're heading in the right direction and appreciate the work so far!

The new one looks more crisp and clearer for sure, but there's just something about the old colors that's keeping me attracted xD

New one, but I'd take a bit of the shadow out of the floor tiles since it looks very "busy" in the new version. Loving the devlogs! :)

Personally I like the new one, the colors seem more vibrant and it is more pleasing to the eye

The new version looks brighter and more detailed, it looks really good!

New one but I like how the floor and wall seemed to be made from different wood in the old one. New one looks like a box where the wall is in shadow but it's made from the same wood as the floor

The new one seems more saturated and bright, while the old one is more subdued and cozy. I like both for different reasons, but if you need more colors, go with the 64 pallet option!

Hey everyone! I need your feedback!
I'm experimenting with a new color palette for Dauphin - mainly for its 64 colors (I've been using 32), but also for its enhanced contrast and saturation. I've done just a fraction of the conversion, and I'd really like to know which one looks better to you! Cast a vote down below in the comments if you'd like to weigh in.
PS - devlog in the works! Thank you all so much for your continued support.
