This is a fantastic idea, I'm glad eBay was on board with it. I hope it works out well for you and I also hope it restores buyer confidence on ebay.

I’m confounded by a blue and white hexagonal box bearing a Yongzheng mark that I found at a thrift store. I just became interested in porcelain about a month ago, I bought it because it looked interesting knowing nothing about the marks until I looked it up. I’ve been told it was authentic by two online auctioneers, but I still have my doubts. After watching your videos, I noticed the foot rims look much more like the authentic pieces, but it only makes me more unsure. The box itself isn’t in great shape. It looks very much like it’s been used as an ashtray at some point. There are some burns on the lid. There is also some fading of the cobalt like it’s been left in the sun or washed and handled roughly, but the idea of someone having no idea what they had only makes the whole thing more intriguing, though I realize the odds are against it being real. I don’t know what my next step should be as far as authenticating it. I listed on eBay then removed it again because I was unsure.

It is a good idea. I bought a small blue and white bowl. It has some small surface chips on the rim. But, feels right. Looks right for ming. There is no mark. I am thinking. This might be a thing to collect. We need an extra opinion before committing to a purchase.

Hello everyone,
I wanted to let all of our friends here know, Bidamount and eBay entered into a three-year Partnership agreement this past Monday.
The arrangement will allow all eBay users in the USA to get our thoughts on any item listed under "ASIAN ANTIQUES" before making the final buying or bidding decision. It is very similar to our "Preview Assistant" program launched a month or so ago.
(we're calling it) "Second Opinion". The BIG difference is, the "Second Opinion" logo linked directly to Bidamount will appear right below the PayPal logo on the eBay listing itself. This agreement also allows us to do it for just $10 per item.
Simply fill out the linked form from eBay and submit it. If you're not in the USA, you can come to BIDAMOUNT and use the link located on the home page to participate just the same.
We'll be doing a video in the next week or so on the program.
With many thanks to all, Peter Combs
