Shaya Kagi

My uploads lately has been focused on FELT uploads, so I want to at least share something that was announced yesterday by FELT’s official Twitter account. Most of you have already know this, but sad news, their 31st album will be their last. Now, FELT is archiving their songs on their official YouTube channel. It looks like the songs will be uploaded daily around 8:00 PM Japan time.

FELT was established on 15 August 2010, followed by their first upload on their Nico Nico Douga account regarding the announcement. Exactly yesterday, 15 August 2020, they made an announcement regarding the disband. It has been just 10 years that FELT has started their activities and working on creating beautiful songs that have graced our ears. The first time I listened to FELT's song was about 9 years ago. The first song I heard was Flower Flag, which is certainly one of the classics and favorites of many people. In my opinion, FELT is very unique in making Touhou arrangements. Sometimes inserting more original melodies, but the image of the character whose theme is used still feels very strong, along with the beautifully-written lyrics.

You can say, I basically grew up listening to their songs. With that, I’m really thankful to all of FELT’s members for their hard work. The songs from Milky Wink to Grow Color really remind me of my youth, the simpler times. Listening in gloomy days, happy days, while studying, drawing, daydreaming, in long trips, commuting, and with friends… Thank you for accompanying me for the past 9 years.

You can also write your impressions, memories, and comments about FELT on Twitter with the hashtag #FELT感想

Next is regarding this channel and the future of it. First of all I am very happy to receive such nice comments from all of you about the FELT contents that I uploaded here. I am also very thankful, because with this channel, I can meet many people and make friends with similar taste in music. I am very happy to be in the Touhou Doujin music community with all of you.

In the future, I'm still not sure, but what I’m very sure now is how I will continue to support FELT’s members after their disband. As you know, some FELT members have other aliases, and they are now pretty much active in that alias. Most of their works are anime/game OST/OP/ED, making songs for several idol groups or girl/boy groups, which obviously cannot be uploaded here because of copyright from companies/music labels. One of them also recently started a new band. Maybe I will create a new blog site (or update the one I made in the past) regarding each member's discography.

That's all I want to say for now, and sorry for not being active here for several months. Here’s FELT’s official YouTube channel: youtube.com/channel/UCYVjEJTsWwyVMj4PlNiqw-Q/I hope the best for everyone.

FELT is love, FELT is life.

This came as a complete shock. FELT was the first circle I fell in love with and I love so many of their songs even to this day. I'll really miss them, but I'm glad that the individual members will still continue to make music. I wish all of them the best in whatever they'll do in the future

Man, seeing most of these comments, it truly goes to show how much FELT has made an impact on our lives, creating fond memories that will remind us that no matter how hard life may get, no matter how much bullshit it throws at us, there are beautiful things in this life that are waiting to be discovered. And God, am I forever grateful I've discovered FELT 5 years ago. Been a regular listener ever since. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, FELT: for the amazing music you have given us, for the wonderful memories you have created, for uplifting us at our low points in life. We will continue to treasure your music, just as we will continue to treasure the warm and fond memories they created. ありがとうございました, FELT.

I got obsessed with Flower Flag. The song stuck in my head for like 1 and a half years now... Now everytime something mentions spring, all I can think about is Flower Flag and Yuyuko’s desire for spring to come.

FELT's song just touches my heart when i first heard them. Their original song "find the light" was the only song i cried to in my life. Their songs held a very special meaning and place in my heart. Of course i would feel sad about the disbanding decision, i would like to thank all of them to create melodies that catches my ears and gives me colors in my life.

I first ran into FELT about 6 years now, things just weren't going good at all and then I ran into Vivienne's Crumbling, and I just got so sucked into that song. Crumbling is my favorite FELT song and is my favorite Vivienne song, even though their are so many good ones. There music has help me change so much. I want to say think you the FELT for composing such great music, and thank you for uploading them.

I am shocked. However, if it's the best for them, then so be it. I knew FELT since 2013, back then when I knew Touhou and its doujin circles for the first time. Their song "LIMINALITY" gave me a lasting impression until now and fell in love to this circle instantly. Man, that was a good times indeed. I wish them all the best! Thank you for your amazing songs, FELT!

Just saw the post on their website, and I was surprised and sad. FELT was the first circle I encountered and they're the ones who got me into doujin music in general. I remember it like it was yesterday, sitting in my room, beginning of my high school life, playing osu when I came across a beatmap for Flower Flag. From that point on my love for FELT's content and doujin music in general took off and is still here today. I wish them the best and I'll certainly be keeping my ear to the ground to see what the members of FELT are up to. As for your channel, I'll still be tuning in to see what you've got in store. I'm sure you'll think of something and it'll be awesome!

Renko-chan just told me, there's always something to look forward to in the future. And if not yet, always something good to look back on and enjoy once more. By the way, looking forward to see your blog up once and for all!

@soul219

I just started again (1 day b4 this happened) listening to Vivienne's songs after 1 year of not doing it. Never let it end it's the last song I would like to listen to before dying. I try to don't listen to it a lot because I want to keep it special, but now it has a biggest meaning than ever. Never let it end FELT ❤

Hi Shaya Kagi, Thank you so much for sharing FELT's works. I do not think I could have gotten into their music without discovering from you. I am really sad about all this but it makes me feel better when you say that they have sung under different aliases. I only started getting into FELT when they released Darkness Brightness and I absolutely loved it. I went to buy every CD I could find available since then because I really love NAGI and MZC's works, Eris's remixes, Mika's singing and her lyrics, Vivienne, Renko and her english lyrics for Vivienne, and last but not least, I really love Maika's voice which is just very soothing for me. I only know that Maika and Vivienne have sung under 発熱巫女〜ず with their current stage names so I am really looking forward to your blog with each member's discography! I also know that Eris has MurderGround and Renko has ORANGE JAM. I really want to keep supporting them, even more so after this big shock... I wonder if NAGI also has another circle that they work with? FELT Forever!!!!

@Repudiator

Part of me wonders if they'll still be around, but only in the capacity as a part of Hatsunetsumiko's - which is sorta how they started in the first place. If we just see a track or two added to HTNT albums instead of full separate releases I'd still be content...
