A snowman could be interesting. 250mm ball for the head, 300mm ball for chest, 350mm ball for base (sizes are given just to show the idea of graduated balls). Inset eyes from turned buttons, a "carrot" nose, and a pipe. Arms could either be natural sticks with finish, or tuned rods with spherical elbows and paddle hands. Three buttons on his chest, but different from his eyes. I'm not sure about a scarf, but you could use a real one from a football team? The snowman should also be given a hat, possibly at a rakish angle. So: 3 balls, 2 eye buttons, 3 chest buttons, a pipe, a carrot, a hat, 2 arms - it's a small project for you 🙂

Everything made round on a lathe usually has a glass-smooth finish. I'd like to see an orange with an authentic looking finish texture.
