Question for you: If you had a PC Gaming handheld you would prefer to...

@vsiu

Lower TDP also means less heat. I don't want a loud fan and hold a hot pan.

@Gonbatfire

If it can reach 30 FPS locked and at least 80% of it's native resolution, then i prefer more batery life

@crashbandicoot5636

As a guy who played his DS and PSP til' they're batteries needed replacing, I would KILL for longer battery lifes.

It defeats the purpose of being a handheld device when you need to find a wall charger every 2 hours and be stuck there until it charges. (but I'm all for the handheld pc craze)

It would depend. If I were next to a plug and the game is heavy, I could use more energy. Otherwise, I would play lighter games or limit the fps (as long as it doesn't go less than 20fps) Anyway, I mostly play lighter games, so probably it wouldn't use so much battery Edit: I also would rather limit the resolution, since the screen would be small

@lucythebrazen

Having a handheld and not going for battery life is incomprehensible to me

@sevenkaylive

Getting a cheap ($100-$200) handheld would be my dream.

The power I have is unreal, my 1 vote changes the entire 100%, only if I had this Power in real life

@DDCRExposed

Depends on the game I guess. If it's action, driving, probably FPS. Anything else, probably battery life.

@sharkofjoy

Society is collapsing, give me battery life because texas was a staging ground for the future. Let me play hades as the world burns and/or freezes, please.

@Tiamorg

Both. When docked, maybe to an egpu, go max but without stressing components. When handhelding, go for battery, but without sacrificing playability.

@senera2000

Depends. How much FPS are we talking about, and what is the difference between battery life? Also what is the resolution and quality settings? Why can't we have a choice between both options at will? I would definitely go for a 30 FPS handheld with good battery life, like my phone which I use to emulate the PSP and 3DS. Mostly because I almost exclusively play JRPGs, which don't need high frame rates. However, if we're going below 30 FPS in order to get low power draw, I would definitely go for the performance option.

@fracturedlife

That's closer than i thought it would be.

@pessoaanonima6345

I could play at 15w and limit resolution, because the screen would be smaller

@randomdude2550

Always balanced and situational.

@kivulhepy

For me performance is more important. There are lots of pd3.0 60watt powerbanks to extend the battery life externally

@zaidlacksalastname4905

Depends on the game, for indie games, which are light, I can get many hours with a low wattage. New AAA games wont be that nice

@GordonGordon

Max tdp, increase fps at either 30 or 60 fps break points. The option for increased strings at 30fps is nice too, and frame limiters can still reduce tdp

@ocea7995

Why not have the option to toggle betwen them? Like on a laptop

4 years ago | 12

@tainio

Option to switch between the two. On a flight for example, extended battery life. Near a power source, better performance.
