If you are not paying for it/living in it, why care?! Do people ever hear "I'm not coming to your house because the outside of your neighbor's house looks like the Flintstones"? I mean the United States has become so sensitive! We are supposed to be the land of the free, the brave, the strong but all we do is complain about nonsense! Why care what the outside of someone house looks like when inside is probably filled with love and laughter.

Why do people not allow people to do their own damned thing? Some people don't give two cents about trying to fit in to the status quo. As long as you are not hurting anybody physically, what's the problem?

For the most part, I am a ‘live and let live kind of person. But I have to wonder if they knew of building codes/restrictions before building? There are plenty of places they could have built where there would be absolutely NO kickback.

I've seen photos of the house, maybe seen it "live" from a distance (I'm thinking of one somewhere on the San Francisco peninsula seen from I-280 or Hwy 101, but my mental pictures of both are blurry and I my have them confused). In any case, I remember liking it a lot--creative and interesting. Be tolerant of your neighbors--and work at improving the breadth or even the quality of your aesthetic taste. Don't tear it down!

Would you want a house like that in your neighborhood?
