I cannot imagine reengaging with the franchise after TLJ. It wrecked it for me.

Okay, so it seems all the Jedi ghosts like, forced their force into Rey. At least they finally explained how she's always so perfect at force powers with no training.

You gotta remember who directed the movie. You can’t just presume that because it’s the same studio (Lucasfilm) that funded Episode 8, it therefore means this movie will inevitably suck. That was directed by Rian Johnson. This movie is directed by J J Abrams, he did Force Awakens and from what i remember a LOT of people really liked that movie. If anything, I’m expecting the quality of episode 7 into this one. Keep in mind that this director also did the 3rd Mission Impossible movie. The first two didn’t do so well (especially the 2nd), but people praised his direction of the 3rd movie. Now look where the Mission Impossible franchise is. It’s an iconic franchise that rakes in millions upon millions with consistent quality. Keep in mind, also, that this guy did the first 2 Star Trek movies (new ones). Take that as you will, I know a lot of die hard fans of Star Trek may not prefer the new movies, but they did especially well with a lot of audience members, and in the end those are very well made films! He took the series in his own modern direction and made it work without having to rely on keeping canon with the original series. I’m really excited for this movie. I think he’s gonna do it justice. I’m open for debate on why you think it won’t work if anyone’s down, but I just personally disagree with the “Episode 8 sucked so Star Wars is bad now” argument.

Just hope rey has to have a "quest" to rebuild the lightsaber at the beginning before she has that OP tie-fighter scene

I... don't know. Confused mostly. I'll at least admit Palpatine being involved again got me intrigued.

And also, couldn't they give Rey Maul's double sabre, so her character would have some fucking sense?

Who else agrees that the title: Star Wars: Rise of a Skywalker, sounds much better.
