still ain’t you. this year has been a special one. i finally feel like an artist again. last year on sep. 28th i had my first session with Nea along with Bully who I’d worked with before. As some of you may know, i write a lot of music outside of my own for other artists and the plan that day was to make something we could send to some big DJ’s we had in mind. before the session i asked my friends and super talented producers, evan and edwin to shoot me some beats since i was in sessions every day that week.
i picked out one of the beats evan sent that felt different from the rest and showed it to Nea and Bully. fast forward 6 hours and i’m on my way to dinner with my A&R, Kristina, with a half finished demo. i told her we had a special day and went back right after dinner and worked until 8AM. the song was *almost* perfect, and the next time i touched it wasn’t until over a year later just to make the final touches.
i’m really proud of this song, and i’m so glad it could come out this year. there is no better way to me to end 2019. thank you to my team for making this all happen, to everyone who contributed to this record and all the other ones this year. thank you, Kevin, for introducing me and Nea and believing in us both.
i love you all and i promise i will continue to deliver music with heart, and nothing less 💛
