I cant with the haikyuu fandom, it’s so annoying and none of the characters are canon The top vs bottoms thing... aren’t they high school students..? It’s basically just fetishizing mlm relationships, I don’t have a problem with the shipping, but there’s even fanart of nsfw things, and if u ship something different, people attack u for no reason And don’t even get me started on how dumb they are, “wHatS a vAgiNa” they’re high schoolers who have health class ALL OF THE SHIPS ARE SO TOXIC like iwaoi- they’re best friends, so it’s a given they’re comfortable enough to be acting like that to each other, but they wouldn’t hurt each other on purpose Every characters is reduced to a single trait like kageyamas entire personality is he likes milk and atsumus is he looks like sangwoo and Barry bee benson Not to mention how damaging these characters can be to the viewers who kin them. I can relate to a ton of characters, Oikawa being one of them, and when all the characters constantly shit on Oikawa it gets so annoying, or when people think that Sugawara, my main kin, acts like that, it really makes me rethink which vibes I give off and make me change my entire personality. People who kin Suna are always being reduced to stoners, people who kin Iwaizumi always being reduced to toxic mfs, so many more The overused jokes, specifically the flattykawa one, why are we normalizing body shaming ffs. Yes, we know he’s fictional, yes, it’s just a joke, but it can make people feel so self conscious and insecure, and the joke isn’t even that funny Deadchi is annoying in my opinion too but it’s not really damaging so I don’t have a problem with it Also the entire mother trope in general, it’s just saying that guys can’t be nice without being seen as motherly, which kinda promotes toxic masculinity in a way I have so many more I could add and could go on about this for hours, it’s really hard to find actual good haikyuu texting videos, so with the exception of one or two youtubers, I stopped watching them entirely Sorry for the whole ass essay lmao

OMFG FINALLY ✨✨ To be honest Im getting annoyed by these stereotypes like I can't even with this 😺 I'm getting annoyed by the fandom time by time, like the fandom created a whole 'nother character and their personalities is SOOO far from the canon ones. It just annoys me and like I don't feel that it's the same characters anymore which makes me unmotivated to watch the Haikyuu texting videos because I have a feeling that it's going to be those stereotypes. AGAIN

Thank you for clearing this up. I actually haven't watched haikyuu yet I only recently got into texting videos and that also led me to anime the first one I found was bnha so I'm still watching it. all I know about the haikyuu characters is what I see in the texting videos I don't really think there's anything wrong with the character but like you said they are probably like completely different characters, which I know can really annoying, If you hadn't wrote this than I would probably have continued to think of the original characters the same way.

I 100% agree this is getting out of hand. Also some terms like Jesus Asahi, dense Ushijima etc is kinda annoying bc 1. it might be offensive to religious ppl if you call Asahi Jesus if he's clearly not and 2. He's a teenager even if he is "dense" he understands what things mean. 3. i don't understand why ppl make the 1st years "pure". They are 15-16 years old they learned this in school! and 4. there are ppl who oversexualise characters/ ships and it's getting out of hand. oh and the jokes are kinda overused (i mean jokes like flattykawa, deadchi, sugamama, asajesus/holy asahi etc) (I'm sorry for rambling and also know it's my personal opinion and it's ok to like this)

FINALLY✨ someone said it!! Gonna have a long rant so, read at your own risk... Someone might get offended when I say my opinion so sorry-- There's no shipping problems involved here, just some characteristics (Makes me want to make my own texting story to suit my characters to my own likes but I'm too lazy XD I was getting kinda uncomfortable with the "overprotective sugamama" thing, He literally is as Chaotic as Nishinoya and Tanaka if he was given the chance-- and they're all TEENAGERS so being 'holy' isn't much of an option because at some point- they'll know about that before 13- Hinata is just very bubbly that some people think he's 'baby' and for 'Tsundere' characters... they're not so tsundere either, Iwaizumi is pretty nice in the anime and he just likes teasing because guys are aggressive with eachother (not all though but you get my point, right?) And Kenma, KENMA , He is Nekoma's brain and heart-- He's not all games, He is very observant and smart, Quick thinker and very stratigic, He just doesn't like doing physical things that'll easily tire him out Edit: Long rant about the characters but Imma just say this, This is merely my opinion on the matter and I get very... 'passionate' (aggressive more likely lmao) when I'm talking about a subject I have strong opinions on

Everytime someone says "suga isnt a mother he's chaotic" people just add violence to his persona and he's basically abusive. Sugawara is nurturing to the first years sure but jesus people are making it so much worse

oh my goodness i cannot express how much i see this around it’s so annoying to the point that i have gotten so unmotivated to post texting videos like bRO. making oikawa text like this is unacceptable! just because your he has confidence and likes to show it doesn’t make him the ‘queen’ of the ‘baddies’ like i will throw a volleyball like iwaizumi did to oikawas head. the same goes to atsumu, tendou, suga, etc. it’s so annoying to see them text like this when tendou might be all over the place (no offense hes actually a massive comfort character) but that doesn’t mean he’s a big baddie and likes ushijima only for bad tendencies.
2, making sugawara ‘sugamama’ or get mad at kageyama for ‘unpurifying’ his poor sweet baby hinata:
okay this one is literally in every texting video i see no cap like?? sugawara is actually the most chaotic person in the karasuno high volleyball team other than tanaka, nishinoya, and daichi in my opinion. yes, dont get me wrong i have a huge headcanon sugawara would adopt a child in the future with his beloved other since sadly daisuga and all that other stuff isn’t canon but he would mature a bit more in the future rather than how he is in highschool. im not saying suga has a low iq and isn’t mature but he isn’t fully mature either; nobody in karasuno is. for the second one for GOODNESS sake this makes me SO mad. kageyama is the youngest first year yet ‘stereotyped’ suga treats him like the oldest and treats hinata like the youngest. it might not be visibly possible (correct me if im wrong) hinata is the oldest first year concluding he isn’t so ‘holy’. and their literal teenagers if anything kageyama shouldnt get yelled at, AT ALL for anything inappropriate.
