Question: Wouldn’t it be better to call the genre “punk folk” instead of the other way around, so that it would be like “punk rock” but with folk instead of rock? It just feels so much more natural to put the “punk” first, because I, and most other people, too, I think, would be used to saying “punk rock”. Sorry if this sounds silly, I’ve just been thinking about it for quite a while now. It seems like I’m the only person who calls it “punk folk”, and I don’t know why. The Bridge City Sinners are one of my top seven favorite bands, and I like to introduce them as a punk folk band.
