Sword Coast Soundscapes

Hey everyone!

As you may have noticed, I haven't been keeping up with my schedule as of late. There are a few reasons for this. Firstly, i've been super busy in my day-to-day life. I was made redundant from my job a few months ago, and i've picked up a few other bits of work but they've taken me around the country for a few days at a time, so i've been away a lot. Secondly is the demonetisation of the channel. I believe that, in the future, Youtube will simply remove anything they deem as not worthwhile - starting with the demonetised channels.

So after a bit of thinking i've decided to restructure the channel a bit in order to get it remonetised (is that a word?) so it'll be safe, as well as allowing me to explore making more types of content. I'll still be primarily making ambience videos - that's why we're all here - and they'll still be weekly (give or take the occasional missed week), but i'll be looking at making other types of videos between them. Ideas I have are - videos on the creation of some soundscapes, some focussing on different areas of the design, and other as an overview of the entire process; Videos tearing apart modules into scenes to decide on what soundscapes will be needed to create a series from it; reviews and thoughts on modules themselves; player product reviews, such as dice I like, apps I find interesting etc.; and vlogs from conventions I go to.

Part of the reason for doing this is because it interests me, and the other part is that remonetisation requires me appearing on screen more. But once again, I know everyone is here for the ambience, and i'll never stop making them - i'm simply looking at expanding the content on the channel :)

Thoughts?

Do whatever you can! You are the best and should be getting the money you deserve. Youtube is insane. That much is clear. Don’t lose hope!

I understand life gets rough for all of us, but it still makes me sad to see the most recent video was 5 months ago. I still use your videos weekly for my DnD sessions, and I had a few requests in my backlog, hoping you would come back some day, but for now, It looks like I'm back to just some background music.

Maybe do tutorials on how to make soundscapes? You could appear on screen easily and still make content that people like. Also lets you work on your tracks while doing it. Maybe you don't want to give away your craft and it's totally fine I just love your content and hope you keep going!

Yes! Patreon is much safer and steady for monthly payments. It could also allow your fan base to pop in with suggestions in return for donations.

Hello, I don't often send in messages but with the release of the new hellish campaign are you going to release an ambience track similar to ToA? I have been using your great soundscapes for quite some time now! Keep it up!

Definitely support you doing whatever you can to deal with YouTube's ridiculous policies. Your video ideas sound interesting and I'll be looking forward to watching :)

Hey there! first off, I just want to say since I've found this channel I've never ran a D&D game without it! I have a question of usage for you. I am building a basic horror game in Unreal for my college course. Would it be okay if I used some of your ambiance? The game will never be sold or shown outside my class and some friends and I would give you full credit in the opening loading screen.

I know I've mentioned this, but what about moving some of this stuff to another website as a back up? Like spotify or something like that?

Any new content soon?

@Flummiification

Do what you want but please try not to change your content to fit the ridiculous ideas of the current youtube philosophy. Try organizing yourself for example in the youtubers union. If you bow to that you will help to kill the platform as it is and we alle like it and might as well abandon it right away
