As some of you might know, some people have accused Xiao Zhan for being the reason the website AO3 is banned in China. (For those who are not sure of what happened, here's an explanation video from a chinese fan: https://youtu.be/EvA2h9SZOwg )

Xiao Zhan was accused because some of his fans reported sexual contents relating to xz from that website, and now the AO3 fans are trying to boycott him (like leave 1 star ratings on dramas xz acted in).

My point of writing this post is to voice out some of my thoughts about this situation. (Sorry if there are any grammar mistakes😅) This is gonna get very random but you dont have to read this long post. (BASICALLY THIS IS GONNA BE A RANT)

This incident is just another example of showing the disgusting side of the internet/humans.

As fans, we need to know the fine line between reality and fiction, respect that Xiao Zhan is an actual human too. We can create fanfics but be sure not to go overboard.

As humans, we need to know that a person's life isn't something to be played around with. The internet is dangerous, any slight signs of hatred, can cost someone's life.

Why hate on people? Why can't we show more love and understanding? It's something I want to ask to all selfish antis.

It's upsetting that a website that could be special to many chinese fans is unreachable now, but I really hope the fans who decided to boycott xz to rethink their immature decisions, because what they are doing isn't going to help them get what they want back, but only ruining an innocent person's life & career. Besides, we have much major issues at hand where we need more people to work together.

P.S. lets give xiao zhan some love & support :)

The ppl complaining about the "explicit" content have definitely not read the novel!! And is completely stupid to acuse the actor he is just portraying a character based on a BL novel, those ppl need to calm down and learn the difference between reality and fiction, when I heard about that it made me mad!!

That was no rant. That was a heartfelt and very true comment. If I was allowed to like it more than once, trust me, I would. It really is sad that such a ridiculous thing is happening. People need to grow the "f" up and get their shit straight before they start making assumptions and boycotting an innocent, hardworking man. I wish there was a way we could make our support visible to Zhan-Ge. I'm sure he'd be surprised to know his fanbase is also quite large outside of China :')

I think fanfictions are just fanfictions and nobody had the right to report them to the authorities (writing is still art and should not be commented). As for those that are doing sich lowly things as giving one star reviews on his draas is just plain immature. Just what is the online community nowadays omg...

For me tho, it's really stupid for them to sabotage Xiao Zhan when it was the fans who was making it worse. Like... why give him the blame when he wasn't the one at fault in the first place? Smh

Honestly I am a huge fan of fanfiction and have been for years. Never less I have never felt comfortable with reading ficcs about real people, still if some people do I also respect their outlets. Still this went out of control and poor Xiao Zhan had nothing to do with it and got backlash 🥺 I hope people stop bothering him and those of us that are huge fans support him all the way

THANK YOU! Xiao Zhan isn’t at fault and yet his career is being affected! And I think they’re bringing Wang Yibo into this as well!! It pisses me off!!!!!!

I hope Xiao Zhan has people that’ll help him through hard situations such as this one.. I hope he’s in a good mental state, that he can get the support he needs.. It’s truly disheartening to see the horrible things people do towards other people in the internet, as if they’re not human, as if they can’t feel pain or be depressed.. I’m scared that it’ll be another one of those kpop scandal leading to the death of the idol.. (omg I wish it won’t.. it won’t.. be strong XZ). Support Xiao Zhan by upvoting his works on WeTV and other platforms! Don’t give in to the antis, I love you all!💕

This whole thing is just simply disgusting. XZ is a victim of his own fan's doing. I just feel so sorry for him that not only do he have to take the anger from AO3 users, but also all the haters waiting for moments like this to attack him. I can't believe they don't know this already. That many people are looking for the chance to take Xiao Zhan down every since he shot up to fame. What AO3 users did is not right, but what Xiao Zhan's fan did was also not right. It's selfish, disgusting, and in bad taste in any side of the fandom. A big headache. I'm so heartbroken for him. He can't even defend himself except to take the anger. I don't read rps, but I respect that everyone have their preferences. It's not my right to use my moral compass to pass judgement on someone just because we disagree. If I don't like something, I will just go on my merry way. For ppl who write fanfic, doesn't matter the genre, it's still all fantasy. Things made up from their mind. If fans are allowed to fantasized falling in love with their idol. That's no different than cpf fantasizing about their idol with another person. If fans think something was created with malice intent, if it's not about their own person they should've reported to the person in question or management and let them take care of it. Again, it all come down to fandom etiquette and the fact that just because you find something distasteful doesn't mean someone else will. I hope that this will be a lesson learned and wake up call to all the idol fans to chase star reasonably. And maybe, think outside of that fandom box before acting. Your idol may be your #1, but he may not be to other people. Don't attack someone's else home if you're not ready for the rebound attacks. I wish all the best for Xiao Zhan. His hard work will definitely help him to get back up. His fans need scolding.

I think its unfair on ziao Zhan. It is not right to write explicit fanfics about a real person. Characters ok. But still I miss all the works by the Chinese authors on Ao3

People: write explicit content about an actor and a character he plays Also people: it's all his fault Damn, truly a flawless logic🙄

Let me get this straight, people are mad at Xiao Zhan because other people are writing dirty stories about him? The Chinese government banning AO3 is unsurprising but why the fuck would people boycott an actor for something he has literally nothing to do with?
