Thanks Shelby from Houston, Texas. It’s been an interesting week with temperatures not seen here since the late 1800s. It probably didn’t bother those folks as much since they didn’t have running water or electricity to go out but were spoiled. My power was out for 32 hours straight and then on and off until midnight Wednesday and I didn’t have a water issue but a neighbor had a pipe break in the attic causing the ceiling to fall in on her craft room! I’m fortunate to have an inline generator so was able to serve as a charging station for the neighbors although we lost Internet on Monday until Wednesday afternoon. Even the landline was whacky, crackling and then cutting off calls. Still we got through it, checking on neighbors and sharing what we had. We are certainly living through strange times and it’s nice to know people all around the country are thinking of us.

Thank you Shelby! I’m in Magnolia Texas (40 minutes north of Houston) and people down here don’t know what to do in this kind of weather (myself included). So many lives lost because they were just trying to stay warm with extended power outages.

My power was off for two days. Many in my community are still without. It may take up to nine days to get it restored. A neighboring county is without water at this time. It’s been thirty five years since we have had weather like this. Hearing the trees falling from the weight of ice was heartbreaking. It sounded like a gun range and explosions going off. We are in Eastern Kentucky. So sad.

Thank you Shelby, it’s bad, but it’s not horrific, we kind of knew that it was coming a lot of us prepared for it, some of us aren’t getting a hot meal every night but we’re getting a meal.
