We did, and are still doing, things a bit different than most. I'm well aware of how to game the system and traffic views, but I stayed true to myself.
No clickbait titles or thumbnails, no third party partnerships to inflate views and sub-counts, and no selling out. Not many channels can stake that claim. You would be surprised what some folks will do for money. Think back to all the channels you watched 10 years ago. Where are they now? Managing an 8th spin off channel? Exploiting their kids for vicarious gains? Following the latest trend two weeks too late? You get the idea...
Don't celebrate mediocrity with the masses...be yourself. Happiness will be ever elusive when you try and conform yourself to the expectations of others. Again, be yourself.
So why am I still here? The same reason I showed up in the first place...to have fun uploading gameplay. My Nephew and I always had crazy finishes in Mario Kart Wii and wished we could record them to re-watch and share them since we thought other people would enjoy watching. That is the same reason I record, or stream and upload stuff today...for fun.
A sincere thanks to you for being part of the fun!
And for a quick update...I haven't uploaded as much lately for two main reasons: 1-I work a lot and 2-my internet has been really, really bad.
On a brighter note, I had a series I really wanted to record for the end of the year...that didn't happen, but I still plan to get to it. You've probably never heard of the game...no one will probably be interested in it...but I am super excited about it (see also: be yourself!). I'm still active in #ShotgunFarmers as well and might record a little since streaming has been so hard (see also: bad internet).
Lastly, where the heck is the stand alone #Skylanders Battle Mode to tide everyone over until Skylanders 7?!
Hope you are all doing well and thanks not only to everyone who has stuck around all this time, but also to those of you who stop back by every once in awhile that watched me "back in the day." I see your "my childhood" and "nostalgia" comments, haha.
