It is my genuine honour and privilege to announce the release of my very first album: Road Trip to Venus.

I feel gratitude.

For us to able to overcome all of the obstacles, challenges, and fuckeries to get to this point. For our ability to say yes amidst the many people who told us no. Be it a label. A radio station. Whoever. We’re still here.

I wanna make sure that my nieces and nephews growing up, have the ability to express their feelings in love, and not feel corny, or embarrassed to say it.

I wanna make sure that the man dem who see me as a role model, can appreciate someone who didn’t fall in line with the hyper-masculine blueprint expected of black males in this country.

I wanna make sure that when I look back at the decade from 2010 up until now, that I can say I did everything in my power to rep the culture that I stand for. The culture my immigrant parents bestowed onto me.

The title of the album represents my journey of love, and it’s many shades. It says that women aren’t listened to enough. It implies that the answers to all my questions in love, can be found in Venus.

It implies that we as men can listen more. And if not, it at least says that I’m trying to.

To everybody who pre-ordered the album. To everybody currently saving the album on their favourite streaming platforms. To everybody calling their best friend, families, significant others, to tell them the good news.

Without you I don’t have a career. I love you all.
