What is your CAD skill level?

@eslmatt811

The problem with the question is that it is easy to over estimate what you know. I could design what I needed, then Maker's muse put out a video on surfaces, and now I realize I have been using 1/5 of tools.

@amocsy

All of the above. 😂 I spat out hundreds of parts and realised I know nothing

@WoodwardIII

I wish there was an option in between intermediate and advanced

@dotintegral

I would go with intermediate, but I haven't seen what real experts can do... So maybe am I beginner 😂

Even as an engineer who has been exposed to CAD for 20yrs there are still certain techniques or features I struggle with. It’s always good to see how other approach modeling an object to try and learn some new methods

Beginner, that has made complex parts the hard way.

Took CAD classes in high school, problem is, that was over 30 years ago and it's changed just a bit.

Somewhere between beginners and intermediate

@HuFlungDung2

I cut my first CAM skills on Bobcad. Had to draw a lot of tool paths in 2d, before solid modelling became common and affordable. Had to learn a bit of CAD for fixture design. Most part designs came from my customers, but I learned how to create watertight models from a 2d sketch. CAM is actually quite engaging for milling machines. 3d print slicing is like cheating to me: very complex output for practically zero effort. My hat is off to the slicer creators.

@MistImp1

I’m stuck somewhere between intermediate and advanced, solely because I can’t afford the paid version of Fusion. Hobbiest license use to be the full version, but every year they take pieces away.

I went to college to study mechanical drawing/engineering.. ended up with a degree in computer science. Now retired, and i finally get to use my drafting skills as a hobby :)

Depends on the program 😅

Mostly simple one part designs with a few simple multi part designs in the mix.

@50ShadesOfBeige

If it wasn’t for Tinkercad I wouldn’t be able to design anything.

@varazir

my first cad software was Autocad LT 1.0 then moved my way up, did some 3D in Autocad 4, have a "degree" in CAD/cam and CNC, we used Mechanical Desktop. But I jumped from Autocad Mechanical desktop to Fusion so I hade 15 years not touching any cad at all.

Need a option for kindergarten skill level

@auntymalware

I’m such a noob that I still struggle with snapping two objects together in blender, most of the time they don’t align as I need them to
