The real thing we gotta stop doing is treating people's opinion pieces as if they're something that need to be rallied against vs just ignored if you don't like the premise.

RDR2 is an awesome game, don't get me twisted, but it isn't this shining beacon of quality people like to pretend it is. Gameplay and story wise, it 100% is. Phenomenal, feels like a book, leaves you with a void after you finish it. But when it comes to graphics and whatnot, it's more that games nowadays suck than that RDR2 was something over the board special. The game is clunky, runs heavy, glitches, crashes and isn't overall a smooth experience. The use of photography is pretty good, the use of scale too (although the actual topology of the maps aren't "that" impressive). If anything, RDR2 was already part of the trend that led games to be as they are right now. A trend that started a long time ago and involves pre-ordering, layoffs, crunch time, buying assets, use of third party engines, in-game purchases, DLCs being produced alongside the game itself and a long list of problems that contribute to the garbage state things are now.

Because people like to turn the game into their personality. I can come up with a few examples. Its the same people who can do nothing but praise the media to where i downright hate it because people don't shut up about it. Its good. You like it. I dont. Move on.

All open worlds are crap compared to RDR2, they use as exemple to show how insane was the effort into that game and how lazy are other companys, also great to save people's money to not buy trash.

It is. Why? I don’t know. It just is…the greatest game ever made. At least as far as story goes, and that falling in love with the characters and their development. The writing, to me, was simply perfection! The only time I ever felt so emotionally attached to a game was back on the PS3. The game was Red Dead Redemption.
