Mr Neel Raithatha aka The Wax Whisperer

Who you ‘SHOULD’ & ‘SHOULDN’T’ go for your #earwaxremoval!

Amazing news all! An unbelievable number of my professional colleagues have contacted me since the @bbcbreakfast & @bbcnews coverage yesterday, to advise that so many members of the public, prior to booking an #earwaxremoval appointment, have been questioning their credentials and professionals qualifications. Don’t worry, you are doing the right thing and they are happy for you to do so!

The industry’s ‘hidden’ hearing and #auralcare truth is now out in the public domain.

Also, be careful of people using certain camera devices. They make look like the #iCLEARscope®️ and #WAXscope®️ since they incorporate a smartphone device. However, one in particular has unanswered decontamination concerns whilst people are taught to hold the suction probe by the suction hose (and not suction probe handle itself) since they don’t have enough space to hold it properly. I have a video of one of their trainers teaching there delegates.

Imagine someone entering your ear with a stainless steel probe that they don’t have full control over! Frightening wouldn’t you say, especially when considering that your tympa membrane (medical name for eardrum) is approximately only 0.1mm in thickness.

Are podiatrists really offering ear wax removal procedures? That's ridiculous, feet are literally the furthest part of the body from the ears.

Thank you Neel for all your hard work campaigning for safer ear care. Let's hope for a change in the law regarding the requirements to practice.

A thought. If your campaign succeeds, who is going to clean all the ears? You constantly keep saying that people have to wait over a year for an appointment. How about a compromise. Low-skilled people do simple ear wax, and people like you take care of the difficult cases on referral.

@EK-wi2me

Is this specific to the uk? Because I live in the US and occupational therapists have at least a bachelor degree and often a masters. They rehab people recovering from critical illness, strokes, long term ventilator, hand surgery other neuro things and research people how to do things in their own especially adds. Physical therapists do all of the rehab before and after orthopedic surgery, exercise and ranges of motion stuff. Also rehab and strengthening after long critical illness (critical illness myopathy). Ot and pt work together. Who does all this in the uk?
