It's ok if you don't know both or either. But Blender does 3D animation with models that can be taken from video games, and Animate is a 2D software that is the successor to Flash. The movie Flow was made in Blender, and Terminal Montage uses Animate for their animation.

I like em both. You’ve made good stuff with both software applications, so as a viewer, I say do what you like doing.
