Twisted Dark Productions

Well, we did it. Calypso's fan made ending in Twisted Metal 4 Reimagined is now finished, and has been receiving great reception so far.

Now that's he's done, we can finally get to the fun stuff. So, like I've said before: The next character I plan on covering for this project is none other than this game's rendition of Mr. Grimm known only as "Captain Grimm", aka the skeleton pirate driving the pirate ship hot rod with a large cannon mounted on the front.

I'll be honest: Captain Grimm is considerably one of the worst characters in TM4, from a gameplay standpoint. They really should've made the special weapon stronger. Thankfully, Pedro's mods fix this. Nonetheless, the driver being a skeleton pirate is an awesome idea, and sort of gives Mr. Grimm a bit more personality.

Captain Grimm is planned to be the first of the two spooky-themed characters I'd like to do for this month, along with the fan made "Super Spectre" boss. If you couldn't tell, October is a pretty good month for content, imo. Adding spooky characters to TM4 Reimagined should be a real treat.

But, back to Captain Grimm: I've been wanting to make a proper story for him since Halloween 2023. Oddly enough, I remember thinking about the sword fight between him and Sweet Tooth right before going to the downstairs TV to watch the FNAF movie. Two years later, and I'm finally acting on it.

Now, his ending for TM4 Reimagined will be a lot like the final game's version. But, if you've seen what we've done so far: There's obviously gonna be a lot more to his backstory, since I'd like to elaborate on the idea that he's "Death dressed up for the holidays".

It's also worth mentioning that unlike the version in the original game, my rendition of Captain Grimm will actually speak for himself, rather than having the parrot talk for him (who's named "Soulivan" in my version). I plan on using Mr. Grimm's voice from Head-On, because for some reason, he has a sort of gruff Australian accent in that game, which is oddly fitting for a pirate character. He almost sounds like Captain Jack Sparrow lol.

It's kind of like what I did with Sweet Tooth; having him actually speak for himself with Melvin occasionally interjecting. Captain Grimm will be getting the same treatment. He'll also give a proper explanation on how he became a pirate in the first place; how he dropped the "Mr. Grimm" name and started a new chapter in his voyage to devour souls.

And unlike the manual, which stated that he gave up trying to gather a crew, I'm gonna throw in a piece of bonus lore which will explain that yes, every sailor he interviewed did end up dropping dead upon arrival (cause, you know, he's DEATH), so Grimm decided to strike a deal with one of the underworld's higher-ups, and was given an undead pirate crew, a ghostly ship, and even a new wardrobe to match his new image. The crew also helped him build the pirate ship car he used in the tournament.

Basically, in a nutshell, Mr. Grimm was bored and wanted to try something new. His fan made ending, which is already underway, will further explain all of this. I'm just glad to be covering him, is all. Although inferior to the classic Mr. Grimm character, I still think the whole pirate aspect gives him more personality and was a cool new take on him.

"Yar, Captain Grimm's the name. And soul-collecting is me game! I'll have my revenge on that clown, and his soul shall dangle from me hook!"
