the sprint cup era was the last great era of nascar. way harder for fans to argue, the schedules for each touring series were on point, the drivers were way more talented, paint schemes were so much better, and it felt like a whole new atmosphere when you were watching both from home and at the track. but then, the monster energy cup era rolls around. 2017 was still good, but 2018 was when things really started getting egregious, with the addition of the charlotte roval and steve phelps’s promotion to president. this was the last okay era of nascar. but once the nascar cup series era began in 2020, and covid-19 hit… all we’ve been getting is the losses of traditional races such as the clash at daytona, the all star race at charlotte, auto club, original atlanta, and chicagoland (2020-25), and more road courses in different markets in exchange. nascar has adorned the “it’s all about the money” mindset, and i can’t take any more of the clash at bowman gray, the all star race outside of charlotte, street racing, and international racing. chicago, san diego… and who even ASKED for a truck race at st pete? are they just gonna be running at indycar tracks by the end of the decade to generate more revenue for indycar on fox? and just when they brought back the dover truck race and arca pocono race, they took away the truck pocono race and arca dover race! the trucks have lost vegas, gateway, and pocono, the xfinity series lost michigan, richmond, and nhms, and the cup series lost their only points paying race at dover. oh, and don’t get me started on charters and the new broadcasting gimmicks. such a shame that steve has been trying to do everything to make me stop watching my favorite sport since i was super young, still to no avail. heck, brian france did a better job at running the sport than phelps. while he killed off the latford system, he still didn’t touch precious things such as schedules and paint schemes.

I don't even know if I even like watching NASCAR anymore... Every year I used to watch every race, this year I took a few weeks off after consistently stressing myself watching this mediocre garbage. I can't even find any enjoyment anymore. I don't even feel motivated to even make VIDEOS related to NASCAR now.
Is this it? Is it never gonna get better? Are we stuck with this slot car manufactured entertainment garbage you call "racing?" Is it hopeless? Did I really waste 17 years of my life watching something just slowly rot? Why bother if I stress myself to death hoping for something to AT LEAST happen when all I get is this.
