Idk why, but this hit me kinda hard. Much respect to the warriors that fight for our nation. Past, present, and future.

Today we launch a new series on the site. It’s called The Warrior Ethos. Here’s a short intro, in case you missed it. The series is intended for our young men and women in uniform, but I hope that other warriors in other walks of life will give it a chance too. Posts will appear every Monday. After this week, Writing Wednesdays will resume. Let’s plunge right in. Here’s the introduction to The Warrior Ethos and the first two chapters. (The photo above is from Khalidiyah, Iraq, 2008—the men of Company F, 2nd Battalion, 24th Marines. Thanks to Lance Corporal Albert F. Hunt.) WEAPONS CHANGE WARRIORS DON'T✊🏻🇺🇸⚡🇺🇲🌟⭐✨🙏

My dad was a WWII veteran and no matter where he went to an air show there were always other vets and or their surviving family members an they would talk about things and experiences but the one thing that is burned into my memory is watching him talking to younger service members and how intently they listened to what he had to say it was just amazing it's like age made no difference. Dad passed away in February of 1998 after all these years later after having done some research and getting to know some veterans from other conflicts including one from WWI I have to say this...dad I know that we had a strained relationship at times but I wish I would have listened more, asked more questions and went to Europe with you when "mother" refused to go. Please excuse me I have to go somewhere and cry for a while...no one understands the loss of a service member more than another service member except the family with broken hearts and emptiness...

The bond created in battle can never be broken. Respect and thanks to all who answer the call and serve. I may not know you, but you will always be my comrade-in-arms

I absolutely fucking love this! And instantly see the cut picture from WWII of a shoulder mounted bazooka that another soldier is thrusting like it’s his dick side by side with one from “today” with the same stance but it’s an AT4 instead. We don’t die🤷🏽

I just got back from basice training and I'm getting discharged from the army bc of a medical condition but I say amen 🙏 to that bc it is true weapons may change but warriors don't. I say thanks to all who have and still answer the call to arms to fight for our countries battles. Thanks to my brothers and sisters in arm

In the movie Troy, when Achilles says "imagine a king who fights his own battles, wouldn't that be a sight" nothing holds more truth...
